So today I went to my local post office because I forgot to pay for a package of bubble wrap I took on Monday. I went there to ship an Oster clipper to my brother. The night' before I checked the USPS site and saw that they have a flat rate box for twenty three dollars. When I arrive at the post office I was so
disappointed. You will see why. I was given two boxes, one the size of the smallest pizza, and one the size of a large pizza. I was talking to the guy and he was so pleasant. He gave both boxes to try and I decided to use the large one.
I went and put the clipper in the box and went back inside to pay for the shipment. I gave the postmaster and ask, "how much is it for this flat rate box?" the guy said, "this is not a flat rate box". "I said, what, I thought this was"? "OK, how much is it then"? The guy told me about forty six dollars, that was my disappointment. That is double what I thought. The package was not smuggle enough in the box so I got a bubble wrap to put inside so it does not move around enroute. When I went back to the counter I was very fortunate to go back to the guy that helped me out at first. He told me to put the clipper in the small box and he will help me with it. I did just that and that alone saved me the twenty three dollars. After I gave him the box and the guy was so nice that he taped it for me.
Anyway, today I realize that I did not pay for the bubble wrap so I went by and pay for it. The ladies saw me paying for the bubble wrap and they said, "that is very nice, it is nice to know there are good people in the world". I chuckled because I know there are others that would do much better. I paid for the wrap and left. On my way out I saw this girl with a pair of nice boots. I ask, "can I get those boots". They look exactly like these. She smile and said yes. I said ok and she took them off and I put one of my foot in. We chat for a bit and then left. How could my day be spoiled after that.

ReplyDeleteThank you Teresa, I have had a few bad and good ones. There is a greater fulfillment in doing the right thing than doing the wrong.
