Road rage, why do we do it?

Have you have be given the finger, blasted at with a horn or nearly ran off the road by those who at that point in their life had an issue? I think sometimes there are some real angry people on the road. I am pretty sure some of you have been on the road and try to get in traffic, entering from a nearly closed lane or just made a mistake and want to get back in line only to realize that you are being blocked.

I find it really weird that people will do something like that just because they do not want you to get inline. Then again, we sometimes have to look at the bigger picture, those people, just like us do have problems and you may just be in their path at the wrong time. People face problems at work, at school and even in the home and not all have or gain the skills to deal with anger. Sometimes that is how suicide and fight starts, just because people do not know how to deal with problems.

We are not born with a manual since we are all so unique and since life is so unfair, people vent in various ways. It is just that venting on the road like that may have a greater consequence than running into someone’s bumper. It can look something like this

Regardless of what happened or what is happening at the moment, endangering your life and the life of others is not always the best way to deal with things. I know all of us have been angry at some point in our lives and none of us are perfect, but there are times when we really need to calm down and let things slide.  I have a question for any reader of mine who have blocked someone or got really angry at a fellow driver, why do you do it and what was going on in your mind?

  1. Luckily, I do not get really angry very often when driving. When it happens, this is usually because I see some reckless driving, exposing others for severe danger.
However, I must say that I more often get irritated or frustrated, often over trivialities. Why? When I think about it, I get quite embarrassed - I probably think I am a better driver.

  2. I think we all do get irritated sometimes, most times when we are late and rushing and everything seem to move extra slow. It is when we are endangering other motorist then it becomes a problem
